How to Play

Say it funnier

Write the funniest answer — the room decides. Everyone gets a prompt, you go head-to-head, and the crowd votes between two anonymous one-liners.

3–12 players · ~10 minute games · 2 duel rounds + the Last Lash finale

A round, beat by beat

1. Everyone gets a prompt

Each round the room is dealt prompts to riff on. In a duel round you write for your own prompt and your neighbour's, so every prompt ends up with exactly two answers.

2. Write the funniest answer

Type your wittiest one-liner before the clock runs out — up to 80 characters. No answer in time? A safety quip gets thrown in for you, so don't go blank.

3. Two answers go head-to-head

Each prompt's two answers are pitted against each other in a duel. They show up anonymous — nobody knows who wrote what while the votes come in.

4. The room votes, then the reveal

Everyone who isn't an author votes for the funnier line. Then the curtain drops: authors are revealed, votes are tallied, and the points land.

Scoring

  • It's your vote share. A duel is worth 1,000 points — you earn your slice of it based on the fraction of the duel's votes your answer pulled in.
  • Later rounds count more. Round 1 is ×1, Round 2 doubles to ×2, and the Last Lash finale triples everything at ×3.
  • Highest total wins.Points add up across every duel; the room's funniest writer takes the crown at the final standings.

Stage tips

Specific beats generic — a weird, exact image lands harder than a safe joke the room saw coming.

You can't vote in your own duel, so write for the crowd, not for yourself.

Round 2 scores double and the Last Lash triples — save your sharpest material for the back half.

Even a tie pays: with no votes the duel splits its points, so any answer beats no answer.
