How to Play
Guess the number · Back a winner
Wits & Wagers for the trading floor. Estimate a numeric answer, watch every guess line up like a market, then wager your chips on whose figure the truth lands nearest. Favourites pay 2×, longshots pay 3×.
3–12 players · ~7 questions · Estimate, then bet
A round, order by order
1. Post your guess
Each round serves one numeric question — how many, how much, what year. Everyone secretly keys in a guess. Nobody sees anyone else's number yet.
2. The board opens
Every distinct guess lines up on a sorted board, anonymised. Central guesses are favourites paying 2×; the extremes at either end are longshots paying 3×.
3. Place your bets
Stake up to two chip bets on the guesses you reckon sit closest to the truth — your own number included. No tell on who posted what, so trust the figures.
4. The truth drops
The true value reveals and the absolute-closest posted guess wins. Owners step out of the shadows, payouts settle, and the next round opens the market again.
- ▲Winning bets pay out — each winning chip returns its stake × odds: 2× on a favourite, 3× on a longshot.
- ★Owner bonus — whoever first posted the winning guess banks a flat bonus on top, even if they never bet on it.
- ▼Losing chips forfeit— bets on any guess that isn't the closest are lost to the house.
- =Highest bankroll wins — after the final round, the deepest chip pile takes the desk.
Floor tips
You can back your own guess — but if it's not closest, your chips are gone. Bet the figure, not your ego.
Longshots pay 3× for a reason. Only ride an extreme when you think the room over- or under-shot badly.
A tight cluster of guesses means someone there is probably right. Spread or hedge across the middle.
Owning the winning guess earns a flat bonus on top — a sharp, confident estimate pays twice.
