How to Play.
…think alike. Don't.
The cosy co-op word game. Everyone writes one single-word clue for the same hidden word — but any two clues that match get wiped clean off the board, so the obvious answer gets you nowhere. Save as much of the deck as your collective brain can manage.
A round, board by board
1. Everyone writes one clue
One player is the guesser and never sees the hidden target word. Everyone else secretly writes a single one-word clue for it — keep it short, keep it yours, nobody peeks.
2. Matching clues get wiped
Before the guesser looks, the board is tallied. Any two clues that land on the same word cancel each other and are wiped clean — so the obvious answer gets you nowhere. Think around the table, not with it.
3. Sanity-check the survivors
The remaining clues are shown to the clue-givers only, with a quick guesser-blind "flag this clue" vote to wipe anything that bends the rules before it reaches the guesser.
4. The guesser takes one shot
Now the guesser sees the surviving clues — and gets a single guess (passing is allowed). Then the target is revealed and the next card comes up, with the guesser rotating each round.
Scoring the deck
There are no winners or losers — it is the whole table against a 13-card deck. Every card the guesser plays does one of three things:
- Correct guess — you keep the card on the saved pile.
- Pass — the card is lost, but there is no further penalty.
- Wrong guess — you lose that card and the next card is burned too.
Your final score is the number of cards saved, scored into a shared rating band — from Awkward Silence all the way up to a clean-sweep Telepathic.
Marker tips
Skip the first word that jumps to mind — it is the one everyone else wrote too, and matching clues get wiped.
A great clue is specific but sideways: vivid enough to land, odd enough that nobody twins it.
You only have one word, so make it carry weight — no plurals or stems padding it out.
It is all of you versus the deck. A clever near-miss that survives beats a perfect clue that cancels.
